Weather - flooding

Good day - Is anyone in northern Italy today - how is the weather? any flooding where you are? Stay safe

I wondered about this as well, having seen pictures of the river in Florence looking pretty fierce. I hope everyone is safe.

The river is not a problem in Florence, but small rivers in the province are. Pisa was safe only because there is a channel bypassing the city that can take away to the sea part of the Arno river water.

I saw "Flood Warning" icons popping up on Google maps around Prato yesterday. And now there are the same icons up but they are in and around the airport much closer to the city. But I have no idea of what is actually happening in that area.

Update: municipal staff, metropolitan city, volunteers, firefighters, police forces and management bodies are working to reduce critical issues. The main closed roads are: the SS65 Bolognese between Fontebuona and Novoli, the SS67 Tosco Romagnola in Contea, the SS67 Tosco Romagnola in Brucianesi (Lastra a Signa), the SP13 at km 12 (Vinci), the SP32 della Faggiola at km 3 (Firenzuola), the SP306 between Marradi and Palazzuolo, the SP477 at Km16, SR302 between Ronta and Biforco, the SP503 Passo del Giogo in loc. Omo Morto (Scarperia San Piero), the SP130 of Monte Morello at km 10. The Florence-Borgo San Lorenzo-Faenza railway line is interrupted. We invite all citizens to exercise maximum caution and not to go beyond the closures positioned on the road system.
