weather

What is the best time of year for good weather to visit north and central Italy. Do not plan to visit in June-August. This would be for 2016.

There is no answer !! I mean weather is weather. But our preference for travel is mid Sep to Nov 1. The chances are better weather in that period is better but have seen heavy rains in that time also. You roll the dice.

I realize weather can always vary but "Temp-wise" is what I am most interested in. I can check historical data i guess. Looking for typical months where high temps are in the upper 70-mid 80s. Visiting Milan, Lake Como, Florence, Tuscany, Venice. Cinque Terra, Rome.

Then check historical data. That is the best you can do. Remember, to have an average, you have to have extremes.

Just had beautiful weather and no rain in late June -- this was in N. Italy, Milan to the Dolomites and Lakes.

You can get surprise heat even in early June, but late April-June or September-October are my favorite times. Harvest festivals in the fall.
