We would like to travel by train from Florence to Athens Greece in one day.

We need to be in athen greece on April 5th to fly home to canada. Should we fly from Rome to greece or is there an opportunity to take a train from Florence all the way or part of the way on April 4th. Any ideas. I hate wasting a day waiting for a flight.

Any ideas.

I'm pretty sure it would take longer than a day to get from Florence to Athens by train. I'm guessing it might technically be possible just not especially practical. Fly to Athens from an Italian city, and next time plan your trip so you can fly out from a city close to your last stop. Look at flights from Pisa and Bologna too not just from Rome.

Unfortunately, no. You'd need a combination of not only the train, but a bus then a ferry. Total travel time close to 24 hours.
So a flight appears to be your only option.

If you hate waiting then you should fly open jaw/multi-city. Often cheaper. Flying is you only choice.

To get from Florence to Athens in one day involves flying. Any trip ( under 8 hrs) whether from Florence, Pisa or Bologna, goes through Rome.

Must be an interesting story on how a trip that concludes in Florence, has a flight out of Athens to Canada.

Is this a spam post? Apologies if it isn’t.

Train - bus - ferry combo for this journey is c22 hours and this assumes that all elements work together with no delays. Fly. It’s the only sensible option.
