We will be arriving Sept. 9 in Rome and going straight to Sorrento for 4 days. From there we are going to Vernazza (CT) for 4 days. I'm looking for some ideas on where we should go from Vernazza. We did Rome, Venice and CT 2 years ago. So we are skipping Rome & Venice this time. Thanks Ron..

Florence, Bologna and vicinity, The Marche, Tuscany and Umbria, all are reachable from CT. Pick a destination you'd like.

Of course it depends on what you enjoy doing. Have you picked up the RS Italy 2010 book? It will help you figure out what cities and towns might match your interests. I would definitely recommend Florence if you haven't been there before.

The Piedmont is a wonderful area to visit. It is not too far from the CT and Milan. Not a lot of sightseeing things there, but beautiful countryside and good wine and food. We rented an apartment from the Cantina Rizzi near Treiso and it was only around 70 euro a night.

Ron, Wife and I have been twice, and we really love Toscana. There is a wide variety towns to visit, and some of the most beautiful countryside in all of Europe. We love south central tuscany, but enjoy most all areas. Enjoy. Jeff
