We want a meet & greet in Venice, any suggestions?

Please, does anyone have a contact for a personal meet & greet assistance from the train station to our hotel in Venice? We are a family traveling, with a young child, and want someone to "take us by the hand" and deliver us directly to our hotel. We will have 4 pieces of luggage and are staying in the Rialto Bridge area at Al Ponte Mocenigo as recommended in Rick's 2008 Italy guide. Thanks much!

Your hotel looks fairly easy to get to. You'll be fine. follow the directions on your hotels website.. You'll take a short vaporetto ride on either the #1 or the N boat. They are marked fairly well as are the stops. It will be 6 euros each. hop off at the San Stae stop. Once again, well marked and easy to see. The vaporettos are basically a forward section with the pilot and a few seats and rear section with seats and is enclosed. In between under the roof is a section where the gates are to embark and disembark. Just stay in this section for the short ride. You really don't need that much personal attention.

While there are quite a few tourists and the buses are on the water, Venice is really just like a very big small town. the hotel you have chosen is not very far off the beaten path and looks to be relatively easy to find.

Having said that, you couls also get a private water taxi at the train station to take you to basically the hotel front door for a big fee.
