We're back from one month in Italy

Well, grdaughter and I made it!

Had two lovely days in Zurich, saw the Marc Chagall windows, and "lived" there, shopping, walking and enjoying, and getting over jet lag. I even got serenaded by a street violinist.

Took the train, 2nd class, to Italy, Domodossola. BIG mistake. It was very crowded, we hadn't learned what to do with our luggage, got on the wrong car, had to move our seats again because we didn't understand "reservations" And we had too much luggage.

I had one carry-on plus a smaller suitcase full of T-shirts for the people we were going to see in the Alps. Ashley had a larger, heavier suitcase and her small back pack. I had trouble making it up the steps and got a gentle push from behind, on my "behind"

Learned to toss luggaga up first onto the train platform and then use both hands when stepping into the car. Whew!

NanC,

Based on your description above, it sounds like there will be some incentive to pack lighter on the next trip! That's something I'm always "fine tuning" as well.

Cheers!
