Hi - We will be staying in Sorrento for 3 nights. Do you recommend driving the Amalfi Coast or take a ferry ride? Things not to miss. Restaurants to eat.

Buses and ferries. One option is to take the bus to the top of Positano, then work your way down through the town and take the ferry back. You won't want a car in Sorrento.

The roads on the Amalfi Coast are incredible. Do yourself a favor and take the bus so you can spend all your time admiring the beauty instead of wondering if this corner will send you over the cliff! 8-)
I loved the bus ride from Sorrento to Amalfi. My plan was to eat at Positano on the way back to Sorrento. The ride on the busses gave me motion sickness, so I just went back to my apartment! I still want to eat somewhere in Positano, preferably with a view, but that will be another adventure.

Just returned, I splurged on a private driver....210 Euro for 8 hours...well worth it. More stops, very informative, personal. Did not eat along the way except for snacks.
Da Filippo in Sorrento is my favorite for food.

I`ll second "Da Filippo" reccomendation in Sorrento! Delicious food , full of locals and great service. Other one we really enjoyed was "Vino Vero". Enjoy your trip!

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions. I love the idea of taking the bus to Positano, having lunch there and ten take the ferry back. I canot wait to try Da Filippo and Vino Vero.
