Watercolor painting groups/workshops - Italy opportunities?

Hello Travelers - I am follow up on a thread I saw here from June 2025 researching possibilities for watercolor painting group tours in Italy. I am recently retired, looking for an instructor group-led watercolor only, week or two in 2026/27 in Italy. Anyone have any suggestions? Much appreciated.

I've been "collecting" resources for Watercolor workshops but have not done one yet. Here are a couple of the resources I've found:

Uptrek:

https://uptrek.com/retreats/art

I tried to bookmark the link so it was at "search for workshops in Italy" but we'll see how it turns out, lol. The first artist listed on the search is an artist that I follow on YouTube from Canada - Emma Lefebvre - although it looks like her Fall workshop is sold out.

I also looked at this website because another artist I follow has some workshops on here:

https://www.thebluewalk.com/tours/art-vacations/

Are there any artists you follow on Youtube or FB? Their pages are often a good place to start although the artist I like who has a workshop on BlueWalk has not updated her personal webpage since 2024, hahaha so it was easier to find her workshops with a google search. The one I like on there is Ohn Mar Win and found her with a suggestion from forum member Kim.

I'll be eager to see what others come up with!

Many years ago you would find this kind of info at your local Italian cultural institute organization (usually found in bigger cities). I bet it’s still the case.

Good point! A couple of years ago while on a Rick Steves Italy Tour, I went to a couple of art supply stores in Rome...wish I had asked the store employees about group art contacts! Never thought of it then... :(

Hi,

Here’s a site to have bookmarked. Right now the artists are not doing Italy locations, but they change each year. I was supposed to do a 5-day one in Orvieto in 2024. (I had to cancel due to a family death.)

Another website, but I can’t give references since I haven’t done any here.

If you find one, please write up a trip report! : )

Thank you @brepstein ! - Winslow Art Center looks to be a great resource for online and Italy art tours. So glad I posted; everyone has given great suggestions.

The small tour company Travel Fever Tours, based in Vermont, often offers painting workshops in Italy. I have traveled with them (not for painting!) and think they’re great.

@Janet - I looked at the Trave Fever Tours site and like the travel approach and options. Thanks for posting!
