water transportation in venice

Hi, I was wondering what the best type of ticket would be for water transportation in Venice. My sister and I will be there for 4 days end of May and would be starting with transportation from the airport into St. Marks and returning to the main train station and doing day trips to Burano and Murano. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

A tourist travel card (the 72 hr vaporetto pass) is probably the best deal for you.

It doesn't cover the airport, but from the airport the cheapest option is to take an ACTV bus to Piazzale Roma, then take the Vaporetto (water bus) from there to S.Marco.
From the airport, besides the bus+vaporetto option, the alilaguna boats connect the airport to Venice at a reasonable price.

There are also the Water Taxi. These are like taxis, but are high speed boats. They are the fastest options but also extremely expensive. They hold up to 9 passengers, so unless it's a big group, it's a pricey option.
Remember however that once in Venice, you'll be moving around a lot on foot. Venice is not that big and is very walkable. Sometimes I go to Venice and I don't even get on one vaporetto, I just walk everywhere. The walk from the station or Piazzale Roma to S. Marco is about 45 min at a leisurely pace.
