water taxis from Guidecca to Venice Marco Polo airport

my wife and I are staying at a hotel on Guidecca island while in Venice and to save time getting to the airport for our departure we were plannning to spend the money on a water taxi rather than the vaporetto and bus...any idea what a reasonable fare would be for the 2 of us? I have read anywhere from 70-100 Euro for 2 people

thanks very much

The Hilton Molino Stucky is the largest hotel on Giudecca. They have two private shuttles with their name on them. Unless they have expanded since mid-2007, the shuttles only go to Zattere across the canal and to San Zaccaria. Neither goes to either the main train station nor the airport.

We were there in early June of last year and you can bet that there were many comments to the Hilton about more direct service. As a side note, the 41 or 42 vaporetto will get you from the Palanca stop to the main train station in about 15 minutes so that's not bad.

A water taxi will cost you a minimum of 100euro from most anywhere in Venice to the airport. The cost can be shared by others. Very expensive.

Many people book an early flight out of Venice-Marco Polo and thus get caught in having to take the water taxi to make the flight on time. The Vaporetto to Piazzale Roma and the bus are much much less expensive.

Are you staying at the Hilton Molino Stucky? If yes, what a great place. We were there when in opened last June 1.

We took a water taxi to the airport this past Sept. Our hotel booked it for us. I really enjoyed the ride. The price quoted was 100 Euros, but we were leaving early and the water taxi said it was a 20 extra dollar surcharge because of the early departure. We saw the city coming to life in the morning and the sunrising too. Kids were taking vaparettos to school. Workers were arriving. Boats were making deliveries. We traveled down canals back canals we would not have seen and then had the fun ride following the pilings that create the watery path to the airport. When you arrive at the airport dock there will be vans trying to sell you transportation for another 20 Euros to the front door of the airport or you can choose to take the walk. I you look up and too the right you can see the path to the airport. Which hotel are you staying at on Guidecca? I noticed 2 had their own water taxi with their name on it. I wonder if they provided transportation to the airport? Contact your hotel.

You will save a lot by going to Zattere and then taking the Alilaguna speedboat to the airport. The first one leaves at 4:20 in the morning.Someone previously checked at that hour of the morning to be sure it went that early and it did.We were traveling the other way and took it from the airport to Zattere and it worked well.I think its about 11U.

Richard, If your flight does not leave early in the morning, you can take the vaporetto bus to Zattera and catch the Alilaguna Red Line to the airport. The first boat leaves at 7:45am and gets to the airport about 9:10am. Otherwise, if you can get to San Zaccaria vaporetto stop you could catch the Alilaguna Blue line that leaves as early as 3:44am.

I took the Alilaguna from Zattere to the airport in December 2007 and it cost me 12 Euro.
