My husband and I arrive to Venice Marco Polo airport on Wednesday August 28th. Our hotel is on the Grand Canal. We just realized it coincides with Venice International Film Festival and the Consorzio Motoscafi Venezia is not taking reservations during that period. Does that mean the water taxis won't be available at all? Or do we just show up without a reservation? Does anyone have any suggestions on other options to take us from the airport to our hotel?

The last post in this thread explains all your options, not sure what will be running during the Film Festival - you might check with your hotel and see what they suggest
