Does anyone know how late these water taxis run our flight? Does not get in until eight thirty at night. And we would still have to gather luggage
Time of year?
I assume you are going to train station??
What time is your train?
I believe private water taxis run 24 hours
Official site

There is always the bus
Venice water taxis run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These are the private transportation services going where you want to go, much like a land taxi. (If you mean the vaporetto, the much less expensive "public transportation" of Venice that operates on a fixed route, these run from 5 am to midnight, but before midnight a separate night vaporetto service takes over. I have never taken one of these night vaporettos and don't know much about how they differ.) So there's really nothing to worry about, with a flight scheduled to arrive at 8:30 pm.
Vaporettos do not service the airport
This post has transportation info for Venice

This is friday, october 2, 2026, and and are hotel is right near the train station. This stop is called Ferrovia. I private water taxi is about three hundred dollars, wondering if the non private version that is far cheaper would be all that busy at nine thirty at night...
Where were you quoted $300?
It is 150 euros on the official site I linked above
You can take the #5 bus to Piazzale Roma then walk or take a vaporetto
Do you need to spend 150 euro on a water taxi?
Take the direct bus #5 to piazzale Roma (10 euro per person). You can buy tickets at the airport.
From Piazzale Roma it's not a long walk.
Bus#5 Timetable below.

The info in Christines linked post above is accurate. Bus to Piazale Roma and walk to Ferrovia would be easy. About a 5/10 minute walk.
I was just in Venice and had an early flight home which meant leaving for the airport at 4:00 am in the morning. The only way to get to the airport at that time of morning is to pre-book a private water taxi as nothing else was operating at that time. We had to walk from the hotel to the private taxi dock near Doges Palace and wait for it....and hope it showed up, which it did. There was not another soul around, it felt very strange to be in an empty and dark Venice!
The water taxi wanted pre-payment and it cost 170 euros from Doges Palace to the airport. Expensive but no other option.
Unless it was a Sunday, you could have taken the N boat from San Marco Vallaresso at 3:56, which gets to Piazzale Roma at 4:20. then the No 5 bus at 4:35, getting to the airport at 4:56.
ChristineH, all the link above does is take me to another. Forum, conversation that is closed. Can you post that link where to get the private water taxi for 150ish?
Thanks
I apologize i've found it
