Water shoes for Amalfi Coast rocky beaches

Do you take water shoes with you? With space at a premium I'm not too excited to take these, but not sure what to wear if I want to go in the water. Flip flops will just fall off. We will be there 2.5 days though.

I'm sure that the shops there will sell everything you need if you decide you need them when you arrive.

They may make it home as a souvenir, or you could just leave them behind. Shouldn't be too expensive.

I don't know if they will have the colour choices you could get before you leave home.

Keens are great multi purpose sandals. You can wear them in the water, walking on rocks, hiking, biking, you name it. I have had a pair since they first came out, must be over 5 years ago. I bought a slightly better looking pair last year and have used them for several vacations. I walked all over Israel in them last year, over cobblestones, climbing the walls of Jerusalem, and into the Dead sea. I wore my old pair in Montana for river rafting and short hikes around the rivers. They are that versatile. IMO they are better to travel with than a pair of water shoes that you will only use on the beach. They dry quickly and have good arch support.

Agree about Keen H2O sandals -- my all-purpose summer shoes. Paris, Sorrento, mountain lakes (in and out of the water )

My travel sandal is also a sporty version that can goes everywhere, including water (not leather), and stays securely on feet, such as Keen or Teva. A rock can still slip inside, but better than wearing no shoes on those beaches.

No knowledge of the Italian coast but can say that Keen and similar water sandals have their place. Finished 4 days of fly fishing where my footwear alternated between leaking waders and my Keen sandals the full four days.

The advantage of Keen type sandals are (at least my model) its toe caps and heel coverage. No stubbed toes.

Ideal sizing would within adjustment range fit with and without socks. No socks in the wet. Socks when the Keens are your backup or hot weather footwear.

Down side is that they are not light and do have bulk.
