Water Immersers

Has anyone found a place that sells dual voltage water immersers for tea, instant coffee and soup? If not, guess I will bring my converter. Thanks Joanne

Oh, my goodness, you are going to use an immerser to make bad coffee and worse soup in ITALY?

Our AAA store sells dual voltage immersion heaters and also I have seen them at Bed, Bath and Beyond. If you are going to be staying in an agriturismo or apartment, chances are good that there will be a moka maker for you to use and you can make your own fabulous Italian coffee. Purchase some Illy coffee/espresso (which we were told is the best in Italy or Lavazza, which is 2nd best) and enjoy!!!

I like to carry an immersion heater for making tea. I burned out several dual-voltage ones, and then bought a 220-240 volt one with a European plug. That one works best.

I travel with one...and a backup one. A word of advice. Never plug it into the wall when the heater is out of the water. It will short itself out and then it's worthless. And always unplug it before pulling it out of the water.

Buy one when you get here. I bought one in a hardware store in Paris last year. That way you will not need to worry about the power conversion, or the adapter. And it will be the normal price that a resident pays, rather than the inflated price in a travel specialty store.
