Wanted ~ Tuscany Dinner alfresco near San Gimignano

Hello. We are staying at a wonderful agriturisimo that does not provide dinner. We are hoping to find this experience with the long table of families sharing dinner outside. We would love to hear any ideas of places you could recommend. I know some agriturismos don't allow non guests for dinner.

We have a great list of restaurants but we are looking fir this great outside dining experience for dinner.

Thank you

This may sound obvious, but have you asked the agriturismo owners for a recommendation? I bet they have a few.

And just FYI, "al fresco" is an American phrase. Italians would say either "fuori" or "all'aperto." "Al fresco" in Italy is slang for "in the cooler" meaning "in jail." Everyone working in the restaurant biz in Italy is familiar with the American phrase, but if you want to impress them, say "all'aperto."

Happy travels.

We had dinner in the small town of Monteriggioni one evening, outside, long table, 12 people. Fun times. It was a ristorante if that bothers you. We traveled there from San Gimignano.

Il Vecchio Maneggio OR Fattoria Poggio Alloro both fit the bill. And very close to San Gimignano.

I have eaten at both and can vouch for them.

I know the perfect place! It's called Fattoria Poggio Alloro; http://fattoriapoggioalloro.com/agriturismo-en/restaurant/?lang=en

It's an Agriturismo with a restaurant just outside of San Gimignano, with views of San Gimignano. They have several outdoor terraces on which they serve lunch and dinner. You can read their wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor. We had lunch there in August. The setting is idyllic and the views are amazing. All food and wine are produced on their organic farm. Reservations are recommended. We showed up for lunch without reservations and we're lucky that they accommodated us. They also have a store in which you can purchase their wines, olive oil, cookbook, etc.
