Walks if Italy - Venice Boat Tour with Grand Canal & Tower Climb

Has anyone taken this tour? Looking into it for our trip in two weeks. We are two adults and two 16 year old boys. With only three days in Venice, it seems like this is a good tour. Any personal feedback would be appreciated!!

I've never gone up San Giorgio by foot - I always use the lift/elevator. Love that tower.

And Rick does a decent audio tour of the Grand Canal.

I haven't done any Walks of Italy walks but I hear good things about them.

It does seem that you could easily do both major parts of that tour easily yourself, but I imagine that the guide will bring lots of added value and information.

We used Walks of Italy when we were in Rome with friends for their first visit. They were excellent and I would recommend them.

I would echo what the other posters noted...We climbed the tower on our own and rode the vaporetto through the canal using the RS guides to know what we were floating past. Did we miss things ? Possibly !

If you crave that extra touch that a guide gives, Walks of Italy would be excellent, however.

I'm torn. With a short stay and we've never been there before, we don't want to miss anything and the tour does take care of logistics. I'll think it over some more. Thanks everyone!
