Elisabetta was our local guide in Venice during the Rick Steves tour.
Yes, we're on a Steves tour also. I am hoping to find a guide pre-tour as we have 4 days to enjoy.
found the 2guides4venice site, thanks
Which RS Tour and dates are you on? We're on BOI 17 Days beginning 9/12.
I took a private tour of Murano with Valerio from Detourist. He was very good, and he does group tours.
Highly recommend Lucrezia! This was our favorite guide and tour of our 2 week trip. We did the highlights and hidden gems. https://www.secretvenicetour.com/
We did an excellent walking tour with Adventure Bellissime https://www.tours-italy.com/venice-tours
https://www.schezzini.it/ Alessandro offers a fantastic eating and drinking tour. Its not so much famous sites, as a slice of Venetian real life. We loved it.
We are on a later tour. Thank you all

download the app with many self guiding walking tours. we loved walking the back canals of cannaregio away from the crowds. many residents live here, many shops/restaurants owned by mom & pops. we stopped by a hole in the wall wine maker place. bring your own bottle and pick the wine you want from the small barrels using hoses to fill bottle
restaurant diana siiting outside on canal was fabulous & good food. had to since my traveling friend was diane

the singing gondolier in venice, many generations throughtout family and using dad's gondola. several years back was recommended from a poster. was fabulous and so was he. he sang for us going thru outer canals. us 4and away we went. brought a bottle of local prosecco and plastic glasses from our apt to celebrate with 2 friends who've never been to venice, we all loved it. picked us up near jewish ghetto, we did grand canal to other canals, the grand is very busy with all types of boats on it since it's like a main highway. email him for time/prices (evening prices more) decide with your own opinion. you can't go wrong with luca
take a short train ride (30 minutes) to treviso. home to tiramisu and radicchio and away from the hustle & bustle of venice to a small town non touristy. (known as little venice)
