I m looking for suggestions for a walking tour in Palermo with an emphasis on history more than food.
Thanks in advance—
Penny
I'm following. I hope you get some responses. Currently, I am researching the walking tour conducted by Domenico Aronica who is recommended in Rick Steves Sicily guidebook. It's 45 Euros pp and does include some street food, but, that is not the focus of the tour. Others that RS recommends are at least 140 Euros pp for a two-hour tour.
I looked at Domenico Aronico's website and there was no information posted since 2014. Is he still in business?
Hi, I did a city walking tour in Palermo in May, along with other activities. Everything is listed in my trip report - about 2/3’s down the list of cities marked in bold-type.
pa.gates.5 he is recommended in RS Sicily's 2024 guidebook. I have emailed him today but haven't received a response, so far.
Oh, Jean! I just looked at your wonderful trip report only to lose my breath. I am so sorry that you lost your husband so suddenly and while you were away. My heart goes out to you. Here you are helping others. I wish you the best.
I found the walking tour on Facebook and sent a message there.
"Are you still offering tours in Palermo? I've emailed and heard nothing. Rick Steves recommends your tour and I'd like to take it!

Lindy, yes! i didn't receive any email, please send it again or write me WhatsApp 00393471336788"
I've emailed him again and let him know on FB that I had. I'll also try WhatsApp.
Addendum: I received a response on WhatsApp that he might not offer a tour in December. I'm looking elsewhere, but depending on when you're going, it might work for you. Good luck!
Thanks so much, everyone, for all your suggestions!
