Walking the Via Francigene

Hello -

We will be staying in Tuscany this coming October. I am hoping to partake in a 3-4 hour piece of the Via Francigene. Our apartment is near Poggibonsi. Is the Poggibonsi to San Gimignano a decent (scenery-wise) stretch. I'm having a hard time telling distance from the walk's map. Are there any other areas on the walk that might provide a great sampling of the walk? 5-7 miles is preferable for total distance.

Many thanks!

Terry

On two occasions, when we were part of a group staying in villas in Tuscany, my husband joined several of the others on long hikes. The organizer had a book which outlined scenic hikes, all ending in towns with recommended restaurants. You might want to try to track down such a resource.
