Walking on Amalfi Dr to get to hotel from ferry dock

I will be taking the ferry to get to Amalfi from Salerno but my hotel (Hotel Il Nido) is about a 5 minute bus ride/20 minute walk from the dock. Google Maps is suggesting to walk on Amalfi Dr to get to the hotel. With this being a busy and narrow road, is there a dedicated pedestrian sidewalk that would make it possible for me to walk to my hotel instead of taking the bus or a taxi? I was doing street view and it does look like there are sidewalks in some areas of the road but then none in other areas.

Yes, it is a busy and narrow road. It would be wise to take the bus or taxi.

Logan, it would be helpful for you to read some of the reviews from other guests who have stayed at this property, as there are many specific comments about getting to/from town on foot. I just did a virtual walk of that road and would agree that it's not for the faint at heart (and I'm no shrinking violet). There is also a stairway that gets around some of that but in either case you're looking at an uphill climb; something to consider if you're towing luggage? I do see a bus stop very near the hotel, though. Anyway, just a few examples:

"The walk into Amalfi and back is along a winding and highly trafficked road - a few places had a very narrow sidewalk but in most places there is no sidewalk and there is a very long set of steps that required me to stop 2-3 times to rest going back up. It is hard to find the steps to go up at first - ask if you aren't sure. The taxi near where we were dropped off by the ferry was 20 euro for a very short ride - less than 5 minutes. We went into Amalfi twice a day so the walk is really tough if you aren't in shape and/or don't feel comfortable walking on the side of the road near flying cars, scooters, and busses"

"The only downside is the intense walk back up the hill to get back to the hotel, but that is a standard in Amalfi"

"We enjoyed the walk down the long winding stairway to town"

"It is a hike from the town. Walking along the winding mountain road is downright dangerous. Instead, take the stairs to the lower town."

"It is located about one kilometer from the center of town but you can walk to/from town (5-10 minutes) - it is a set of 91 steps and an upward/downward walk. You can walk to town but part of the walk in on the road so watch out for the traffic. If you have luggage, you will need to take a taxi"

"It’s only about 15 min walk to town but it’s along a treacherous stretch with no pathways. So you have to tread carefully along with all the vehicles that are already vying for space. The walk to town is downhill but the walk back is uphill."

This past April, we walked from the Luna Rossa parking garage to the Amalfi ferry dock. After a few seconds of absolute terror, I realized it wasn't so bad. The road is so congested that the traffic is barely moving. Just walk facing traffic and wear sturdy shoes. There were lots of other walkers on our day.

I'm a scaredy cat in my 70's, but I could handle this.
