I plan to walk, mostly solo, all around Italy in the next two years, from Rome to Rome. Looking for others who have done extensive walking, or other resources. I am studying Italian and have been there a number of times. But I want to go slowly and stop often! I figure it will take two years, with many breaks. Is it possible to stay in Italy longer than 3 months at a time? Am I right to plan no camping (no tent & bag to carry). All thoughts and reactions welcome!
Check out this website and there are other web sites you should probably research before staring your Italian Journey - http://www.shelteroffshore.com/index.php/living/more/living_abroad_in_italy/ - I read your question to my husband and he said it was probably 3 months and this website seems to confirm the normal stay before you need to do make more plans for extended stays. Sounds like a great experience for you. Good luck in fullfilling your dream. Be sure to keep a journal of your adventues to share with others.
