Is it generally safe to walk from the Borghese museum to around Castel Sant'Angelo around 7 pm in mid-September?

Absolutely! Spouse and I(and even with a grandson) have done it 3 or 4 times.

We did that walk (in reverse) in late October last year. Not only is it safe, but it's also filled with so many sites to see.
