I am travelling with a family of four and would like a place to stay in Volterra. We would like to be in walking distance. Ideally, it would be a self-catering apartment with two bedrooms (hubby snores, teens can't handle it). Any recommendations?

We visited Volterra last year, and adored the place. The countryside is surrounded by farms, and many agriturismos are available. I suggest you go on Booking.com to find accommodations in the area. Or Google "Tuscan agriturismos" and you'll be linked to specialized websites.
You could also stay outside of Sienna or San Gimignano in the countryside.
