Volterra and Lucca

Hi All

I'm trying to finalize the Tuscany portion of my 2 1/2 month trip to Europe. For now, it looks like this:

April 24 - leave Cinque Terra, see Pisa, sleep in Florence April 25 - April 28 Florence
April 28 - leave for Lucca early morning

For now I have myself going to Lucca on April 28 - April 30, then to Volterra for one day/night then to Siena for a day / night and then to Rome.

I know it's a lot of towns in a small amount of time but I figure there's not alot to see in each and a good half day - day in each will be ok. Since I currently have two nights in Lucca, should I add one of those nights to Volterra or keep it as is?

Any thoughts?
PS - Travelling with public transportation. Looking to be in Rome on May 2nd.

Lucca is closer to Pisa then it is to Florence so you'd be backtracking--would have to go back to Florence to go to Siena so if you're that pressed for time, you might want to swithc days...

I'm actually doing a loop .. Florence, Lucca, Volterra and Siena.

I guess my only real question is which place deserves more time, Lucca or Volterra. Any comments?

Lucca derserves more time than Volterra.
