Volterra and Lajatico

I have read Rick's segment on Volterra in the 2009 Florence & Tuscany book (pgs. 376-386).
Does anyone have any additional information or specific suggestions on Volterra?
Also, we are spending a few days in Lajatico. Any suggestions for that location?
