We are leaving in a few weeks for Italy, staying a week in Volterra...will it be easy to do day trips to places like Florence, and Siean....what are the other towns that we should see? Thank you...this is our very first trip out of the states!

Wow -- I am excited for you, having your first trip to Europe! What fun. I hope you have the Rick Steves Florence and Tuscany guidebook. It describes all the must see sites of Florence (which you certainly must see) and Siena and the other major Tuscan hill towns. I believe Siena is one of his favorites. I'm looking forward to checking it out on my 2nd trip to italy in Sept.

I'd rent a car and go all over while there. You are in the middle of lots of great places in Tuscano. I use this site to plan all my trips as it give you driving times, maps, directions, etc.....
