I'd like to go to Voltera and I don't have a car nor do I really want to rent one for one day. I've been told of buses to take. However, I'd like to relax and get there on a tour. Does anyone know of such a tour? I've been lost getting someplace with busses in Tivoli where few spoke English and really don't want to get lost again. Thanks
Yvonne,
Have you tried a google search for "tours to Volterra"? There are many and this is just one Volterra Tours
Volterra was my favorite hill town. I agree about catching a tour or bus out of Florence.
Volterra is certainly worth a visit. Where are you based?
Where are you staying?
I did Volterra and got a driver to transfer me there from Montalicino vs taking all the buses. It was worth the extra money to me. Along the way they even setup a couple of wine stops for me and we stopped for a lot for scenic pictures. I gave them a nice tip for the extra. It was Luca at Hills&Roads who was my driver.
Thank you all for your advise. We've decided to only stay in Florence for three days and have lengthened our stay in Rome. We'll save a trip to Voltera for the next time.
