Thanks, acraven. I found that post in one of my Google searches, and it was actually the reason I decided to post here! :-)

I sent a direct message to the original poster on TripAdvisor earlier today, in the hope that she might respond. I hope she and her husband were able to find the store when they visited.

If all else fails, you might reach out to the store where your husband buys his Pancaldi ties. The buyer may know if Pancaldi has a store in Bologna or be willing to contact their sales representative to inquire.

You may have already found this information, but clicking on the very first "square dot" in the Vitaliano website takes you to a black and white photo of what appears to be a showroom and gives this information:

I previously Googled that address (I found it on their website). I looked at the street view, but the location doesn't appear to be a store - it doesn't have any signage like you might except with a store/showroom, so I'm wondering if it is simply an office.

I've reached out to that email address and am hoping to hear back, but haven't had any response as yet.

I was posting on the off chance that maybe someone had personal experience of finding this place.

Frank - I followed your suggestion, and called the place where we typically buy the ties. The lady pretty much laughed at the suggestion of me putting her in touch with the designer! She said she'd been working there for 12 years, and no-one has ever asked for that type of information. She said she wasn't allowed to give out their direct contacts, and even if she could, she said no-one would speak to me. Aaaaah. So, the search continues...

That woman sounds quite full of herself. There's nothing unreasonable about a good customer of a high-end store asking whether one of their favorite designers has a retail store in Bologna.

Yes, she was having none of it! She wouldn't confirm whether there was a store in the area or anything. A little frustrating to say the least.

This may be a long shot. But it appears they have a twitter account @VitalPancaldi. Twitter says based in Bologna. Try tweeting them.
