Visiting volterra

If anybody is planning on visiting volterra, seriously think about the hour tour offered by tour guide Annie Adair and her mates. Was lucky enough to get Annie herself on our tour last night and she was fabulous. Instead of just doing the hour she asked if she could keep going to show her more of her town. Her enthusiasm for her town was evident throughout her 1-1/2 tour with us. Brought to life things Rick has in his guide book along with much more.

Dan, I'll second your recommendation. I had Annie as a local guide on a RS Heart of Italy tour and she was wonderful. Brought me to tears talking about the Nazi occupation and the ensuing Allied liberation. We also did a wine tasting with her husband who was terrific. My nephews, who were 20-something on the trip, still swirl and sniff the way he taught them and make up some mumbo jumbo about the tannins and the fruits. Both very memorable experiences!
