We are hoping to do a boat ride from Lenno to Villa Balbionello at 10 AM on a weekday, but I am not seeing any great times for the ferry to get me there from Varenna. I’m thinking we will have to take the ferry to Bellagio and then another ferry over to Lenno, but I am concerned about how early these ferries start running. Does anybody have any information on the earliest ferries or what you might recommend to get us there on time without having to book a private boat?
We visited Villa Balbianello last June from Varenna. We took a morning ferry from Varenna (I don't remember the exact time). The ferry stopped at Bellagio but you do not get off the ferry here. The ferry then continued on to Lenno. Once on Lenno, we walked to where we boarded a small boat that brought us to the Villa. You don't have to take this small boat; you can walk all the way if you wish. But we thought it would be nice to arrive via the water.
Have you purchased your tickets yet for the Villa?
I remember the ferries ran quite frequently when we there in June. And I know our admission tickets for the Villa was sometime in the morning. Definitely no later than 11AM.
The actual Villa ticket website was sold out, so I bought through a third-party and it says that it is a boat trip about 10 minutes long, that drops you off with a VIP entrance to the gardens. I am just nervous because we have to meet the boat by 10 AM so I’m nervous about whether or not the ferry will get there that early from Varenna.
