Visiting the Last Supper in Oct, advice?

Former art teacher, always the art fiend. We’re flying into Milan Oct. 16. Any advice on tours to this fresco?

We were in Milan this past October and booked The Last Supper tickets months before leaving on our trip. Book far in advance as it is a very popular sight. The cheaper tickets go fast.
We arrived early for our timed ticket but could not get in any earlier than our original time. It also turned out that our tour was in Italian (I did not see that part when booking the tickets). However we weren’t the only ones who made that error. Our very nice guide spoke in Italian during the tour and then afterwards spoke in English re explaining everything.

We were so early and waited at the local cafe as there is no set waiting room at the location. There was a private school up one block that let out while we were waiting. The plaza in front of the Last Supper area is the playground for the children after school lets out. Fun to watch the families interact and the children play. But very noisy!!

Follow the links the other posters have given. Then book tickets for “The Last Supper” as soon as they are available for your dates.I have seen it twice with the rules for getting tickets.

I did the tour given by the venue for an extra 8E. I did pick one in English (9:30A I think) and the guide was wonderful. The tickets are released in batches and didn’t seem to be consistent as to when the next batch was released. Look now on the official site and see how far ahead, then in June start checking every week.

In my view there is no need to book a tour company for this.

I’d recommend the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana as well. No timed entry needed. I think it was about 15E? It’s right around the corner from the Duomo and about a 30 minute walk from the Last Supper. They have Leonardo’s Codex Atlanticus plus Raphael’s cartoon for the School of Athens as well as a really nice collection of art. I spotted an Avercamp and a Breugel among others.

If you haven’t settled on a hotel, I like Hotel Gran Duca di York which is literally right across the street from the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.

We were also there in October a few years ago, and getting tickets was the hardest thing of all. In the end I got the hotel to do it for me, but don't dither, organise it as soon as possible.

I second the recommendation of Hotel Duca di York. We loved staying there and it was convenient to all sites. They also got our tickets, so can't fault them.
