Has anyone been to Sicily in March? Are flexible with our dates to do a tour. How was the weather for sightseeing? Thank you.
I did a Rick Steves tour mid-March a few years ago. The temps. were perfect for me. Mostly in the 70s.
We were in Sicily this spring from March 24th to April 22nd --- the weather was cool and nice, gradually warming up but never hot, unusually rainy the last few days of March. Great time to be in Sicily (we were there in July the previous visit)! The wild flowers along the roads and in the fields were spectacular. We love Sicily and you will, too!
I have made two trips to Sicily in March and April timeframes including this past spring. I have also visited Sicily in the September to October months. They were much warmer, in fact September was still very warm. March to April weather was in 50s to 70s. I did not bring a winter coat on either spring trip but a lightweight jacket and a lightweight rainproof jacket. On some days I wore both, some just one, sometimes neither. On this past March trip we only had one actual day of substantial rain and unfortunately it was our day in Taormina so we lost some of the spectacular views. My shoes, which were not waterproof but cloth sneakers, got soaked that day. Most days were sunny, some cloudy, a few drizzles. Wildflowers were in full bloom. Pleasant time of year to visit.
We are think about next May for a RS Sicily...anybody have any positives or negatives about the time frame?
I've had great weather in May in Sicily. But the water is too cold to swim then, for me.
