Visiting Sanremo in second half of September

S, I have a few questions regarding water activities in this city, this forum seems like a place for "finer questions" so i dont know if it is the right place to ask mine, but here we go, thanks to everyone who answers in advance

I saw that there a lot of boat rental places there, and im definitely gonna rent a boat for a day, i saw that some reviewers said that you can rent a boat and drive it all the way to monaco, spend a day there and then return? Is that possible? Do i need to keep my passport with me when i do that because im going to another country? Can i park the boat in monte carlo? Do you have a boat rental place to recommend?

I also saw I can rent a jet ski, although everything i saw is for the whole day, i would drive it for half an hour, full hour at most. Is that possible and if so, any recommendations for that one as well?

Is water skiing available in Sanremo?

And the last question doesnt include water haha, since Nice and Monte Carlo are close i would like to visit the places as well. Do i go to Nice with bus or train? And if unable to go with a rented boat to Monaco, is there a direct line to the country or will i have to go to Nice first and then to Monaco from there?

Thank you all again and im looking forward to all of your answers!!

Hi there,
I can’t help with the boating questions. But it’s easy to get from San Remo to Nice and/or Monaco. You can see the schedules here: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html. Buy your ticket at the station and validate it before you board. You will need to change trains in Ventimiglia.

Remember to carry your ID documents with you. French authorities were checking papers when we travelled in April. A photocopy satisfied them that day.

Enjoy your trip.

We had a car rental in Italy and didn’t want to pay to return it in France. So we dropped it off in San Remo, took the train to Monaco and got off and toured the area (we each just had a backpack). We then took a bus to Villefrance where we spent a few days. We then picked up another car in Nice and continued our tour of France.
