I see that something similar was posted about a year ago, but it wasn't really answered.
I would like to rent a motor boat on Lake Garda and visit some of the towns by boat. Is that possible? Are there public docks anywhere?
I know that there are ferries, but I think it would be great to have the flexibility of having our own boat for a day or two.

This never used to be a thing. You could rent a boat for an hour or two from some locations, but the cost for anything longer could be prohibitive. There were not many public mooring places.

sirmione gets really busy and crowded with many tours making this a #1 stop for daytrips. read all the info, time/dates, where you can go with limits, can you extend if not long enough for you, if driving parking is the pits. any questions email them. important in directions: bring ID and 300E deposit (ask cash or CC)
read carefully rules, drink some bardolino wine, taste the olive oil, roam around farmers markets. have a great time & enjoy
