We will be docking in Naples on our cruise next month and being on a cruise we have a rigid time slot. Since I haven't been to either Naples or Capri, I am wondering which would be a more memorable expierience for a serious amerature photographer, non shopper? Can you verify for me if I the main sites in Naples are within walking distance to where the ship docks? Our ship has a capacity of over 3,000 passinhers and with this number of people, I am concerned about the lines for tickets at the hydrofoil station and at the other ticket counter where you by tickets for for transportation and sites on the island. How efficient are they at moveing the people onto the Hydrofoils at each end? Thank you very much,
We docked in Naples on our last cruise with Celebrity and went to Capri ! The hydrofoils hold a lot of people. We landed in Marina Grande, took a taxi up to Anacapri, rode the chairlift up to Mt. Solaro to view the I Faraglioni rocks, shopped in Anacapri in all of the tiny stores, rode the bus down into Capri town, and from there followed a path to hike to Arco Naturale. It was amazing ! The photo ops were around every corner and Capri became one of our favorite places. There are a lot of hikes to do with incredible scenery. We definitely were glad we skipped Naples.
Capri, Capri, Capri! Take the bus from Capri to anacapri and take the bus to the next level and go into the grotto. Very touristy but beautiful!
Capri is always a good choice. Naples has little to offer other than the museum. Another option would be a trip to Pompeii. Easy and fairly quick from Naples.
Yeah go to Capri. We booked a tour of Capri and it was the best money we ever spent. Started at the top and worked our way down the Island. Ended up down at the harbor where we booked a boat trip all around Capri. The Captain really gave us our monies worth too, nice slow journey around, backed into some really beautiful grottos. Have a great trip!
The draw in Naples is the museum the delight is Capri. ck schedules carefully as you need at least 3-4 hrs to enjoy Capri. otherwise the museum may be your best bet in Naples. It is tops for archaelogical artifacts of Pompeii.
