Are there wineries you can visit in Cinque Terre?
Yes, in little Corniglia! There's not enough flat ground for a winery California-style, this is going to be a little different. Just follow the pungent smell of ripe grapes into an alley cellar and get a local to let you dip a straw into a keg. I kid you not (welcome to the CT!).Wine production is down these days, as the younger generation chooses less physical work, or that's what I've been told.Whether you find a working cellar/winery or not, the best drinking wine from local grapes is the white Vino delle Cinque Terre. D.O.C. is the mark of top quality.
Wish you could buy locally grown CT white wine in the USA. It was so good, but maybe it was the combination of being in the CT and the scenery that added to the flavor.
