www.vrbo.com we booked all our villas and apartment rentals through them and they were great!

We used www.italianvillas.com (now owned by AAA) the first few times we rented in Tuscany, because they had actually been to every property they listed, and knew the owners. We knew next to nothing about renting in Italy, and it definitely helped to get a good "steer". However, these days VRBO has much improved and can offer better value if you know what you're getting into. These days, we rent directly from villa owners. Mathew

Try Rentvillas.com. They are based in California, and we had a wonderful experience in a villa we rented through them. They were a fount of knowledge of all things Italian. Much more than just renting a villa.
