villages to see in Umbria or between Siena ande Venice

We will be spending about a week driving from Siena east to the Adriatic and then north to Venice. We plan to stay in 2 or 3 small towns along the way.Any suggestions?

Gubbio - nice, unspoiled town near Assisi Camerino - medieval university town, on the mountains, very interesting atmosphere (it is a city whose medieval core has been largely restored, but with students and locals rather than large groups of tourists) Grote di Frassati - it is a cave complex, easily accessible, not far from Fabriano. Urbino - usually a neglected place, well worth a visit as it is on the mountains, with stunning views and delicious street food. Another university town for most of it. Chioggia - closer to Venice, it is a place that reminds me of Siracusa. Used to be a rich outpost for more powerful cities back in the day. From there, with a car one should DEFINITIVELY visit the Po River delta, a region below sea level that was drained over the centuries and hosts a lot of birds and old farms. Don't miss the Sacchi di Mille Campi.

For Umbrian towns, I'm a big fan of Orvieto. It offers more than most towns because of the Cathedral, history and unique plateau it sits on.
