Hello, I’m booked on this tour for sept 2023 but can’t wait to find out... is the hotel close to Siena? Itinerary says to head back to hang at hotel.. I’d much rather stay in Siena for the day and just return on my own.

Marinazee, is your hotel the Villa Il Poggiale? It is very nice indeed, but not easy to get to from Siena, or vice versa. I would think you could arrange with your guide to stay in Siena and take a taxi back to the Villa, though. Be back for dinner, though. I noted that it was a fantastic buffet. Now, that was 5 years ago, but the Villa was lovely.
I too would have preferred staying in Siena, but we made up for it this year by going back and staying for 5 nights in Siena itself.
Hello, thank you for responding. That's the thing, this far out, I don't know what the hotel is yet. That's what I was thinking.. Ask guide to let me stay behind and make my way back by dinner time. Was just super curious if anyone had done this in a recent trip that might somewhat confirm the hotel. Tks so much!!
