This is directed to anyone who recently was on the Village Italy tours offering the “Tuscan Countryside “ option.
Looking for our 10th RS tour to be the Village Italy tour. Noticed that a few dates offer a 4 night Tuscan Countryside stay option. Since we have been to Luca , we are interested but curious as to what the itinerary is for this 4 night stay. Would love feedback from those who have been on this specific village itinerary including the Tuscan Countryside option or from a member of the RS tour staff. We of course loved our visit to Lucca but are considering the 4-night countryside itinerary.
Thanks in advance!
Tess
The exact itinerary on any given tour is subject to change slightly from year to year. For that reason alone, it might be that the final itinerary is not yet set for those four days. In addition, some of the specifics are sometimes left to the discretion of that particular guide. Your best bet to get an accurate answer will be to send an email to the RS office.
I'm guessing you'll have a quicker response if you call the Tour Department directly. It looks like only two of the 35 or so departures (both in late October) have this element. https://www.ricksteves.com/about-us/contact-us
I agree with others who suggest writing to the RS office to find out more. When I was on this tour in 2022, our local guide mentioned an enormous comics/games convention that is periodically held in Lucca. I don't know the dates but this may be the reason for a change in some of the itineraries.
Some info here on what happens in Lucca in October.

The RS office is the one to ask on what the 'Itinerary' is for those 4 days
Village Italy is not to be missed! Before arriving in Lucca, we slept two nights at the fabulous Villa Lecchi in the Chianti Hills. It was spectacular! https://www.villalecchi.com/en/
I'm late to this discussion and on my last day of the Village Italy tour. Lucca was setting up tents all over for their version of Comic-con,
literally all over. Our guide said it would not be a great time to be in Lucca unless you're really into Comic-con events.
