Has anyone gone to the Villa San Michele to watch the sun set over Florence? It looks increadibly beautiful. We will be there in late May and thought of taking to bus up for a drink and a view. Any advice on getting there and getting back by bus?

You are actually much further away from Florence there than say the Piazzale Michelangelo. I don't doubt it is beautiful, but I think you will be watching the sunset on and not exactly over from that location. Up at the Piazzale Michelangelo you can get a drink at the cafe and see the sunset over the Arno and Ponte Vecchio - or bring a bottle of wine and sit on the big staircase and watch it. Buses and taxis go there -

michael, the No. 7 bus goes up to Fiesole if you are bent on going there.
