We are deciding what city/ town/ village to use as a base for a week in early October in the Amalfi Coast area. We want to at go to Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Pompeii... Hike some too. Would love some recommendations for where to stay as well as some rental management companies or websites.

Suggest Sorrento. We loved Positano, five days but as a base we thought Sorrento was better. Then take days trips to Pompeii, Positano, Ravello, etc.

Cricket - We would second the chose of Sorrento has a place to base your trips from. Sorry I don't have a line on rental places however. Also, don't miss Capri. We rented a boat on Capri for 2 hours (90 euro). And boated and swam around the island. Dirk
