Villa Malpensa hotel near Malpensa airport. Thoughts?

I was recommended the Villa Malpensa hotel. Reviews rate it fairly well and since it's an overnighter before leaving IT, any thoughts or other recommendations?

Getting there from Milan, I might hire a taxi but other than that, it appears to be fine. Prefer this over a corporate hotel.

We have stayed there several times and will continue to because it has an excellent restaurant, perfect for a last night in Italy. It is not a typical airport hotel! Rooms are fine too. Highly recommended.

Thanks Suki, that looks like a great hotel. Quite the find! Prices are pretty decent too.

We have stayed there a couple of times. In addition to what Suki said, they have a shuttle to the airport. You might be able to have them pick you up there.

We stayed at the Moxy Hotel. Corporate chain, but clean, comfortable and super easy to get to the terminal.

Thank you all for offering your thoughts. Yes, the reviews out there are spotty. Most recent reviews seems like the hotel got their acts together. I'll check out Moxy. Im thinking now I might stay in Milano and take a taxi to the airport since our flight leaves mid-day. Nothing like last minute eats and shopping in Milano ;). Thanks everyone for the feedback.

We avoid hotels in general and especially airport hotels, but a few weeks ago we stayed at the Sheraton at MXP because our flight left at 6:30am and we were driving from a tiny town in far western Liguria and did not want to go into Milan or have returning the car be a pain in the neck. The Sheraton is "fine," I guess, but more than twice what we normally pay to stay anywhere. We had a hard time getting Google Maps to show us how to drive to the front door to drop off our bags. No refrigerator in the room to store our bottles of pesto. But mostly it was just the cost that irked us.

Before COVID, we actually enjoyed staying at an historic inn called Osteria della Pista (https://osteriadellapista.com/) in a town very near MXP. They have a shuttle to and from the airport that used to be free, maybe still is. We were coming from Torino by bus to the airport and the shuttle picked us up at the airport, we ate dinner at their pretty good restaurant, and the shuttle took us back to the airport in the morning. Nice hotel, nice people. So, someone could take the train or bus from Milan to MXP and take the same shuttle.

Depending on what time of day it is, you may be better off taking the train to MXP than either a bus or taxi so you don't get stuck in traffic.

In June this year, my daughter and I stayed at the Osteria della Pista and thought it was great. Our flight from Naples was delayed by a couple of hours, we called to let them know, and they picked us up from MXP - we just called when we arrived. We had dinner that night in their restaurant which we really enjoyed and as the poster above mentioned, got taken back to MXP the next morning which is still a free service.
Would have no hesitation in staying there again

Oooh, nancy, maybe you were the one who posted about the Osteria della Pista which sent me there in mid Jan. 2020. My daughter and I came by train from Switzerland for an early morning flight and spent our last night there. We also ate in their well-reviewed restaurant for our final meal and used their early morning easy shuttle to MXP.

It was also my last hotel stay for quite awhile (2020 being the wonderful year it was), so I was really glad it was a memorable one and not just a “throw-away” night!
