We are considering visiting the Villa D'este in Tivoli. However, we can't seem to secure admission tickets, because, I assume, Sunday October 2, 2022 is a free day. Has anyone visited it on a free day? How crowded was it? Unfortuately that is our only available day.
Thanks, Carol
Have taken a bus from Rome to Villa D’Este twice. It is a garden lovers paradise. Enjoyed the villa tour also. We never got tickets ahead of time and it wasn’t crowded at all. It also wasn’t free day either. My guess is it won’t be over crowded that day. Seems like tourists are encouraged to go to Hadrians Villa more than Villa D’Este (which is not another set of ancient ruins). I would pack a simple lunch and discretely eat it in a back corner out of site.
I had a very nice day out to Villa Adriana (amazing place) and Villa d’Este with Through Eternity Tours a few years back.
