Villa Borghese Visit

We are going to be in Rome in late June and want to visit the Villa Borghese. When I visit their web sit they only sell tickets 30 days in advance but there are several web sites that will sell tickets in June but for a higher fee.
Should we wait till May to buy our tickets or pay more & lock in the time we want now?

Wait until May and book from the official site -- not just for cost, but to ensure you don't get fraudulent tickets. It's a wonderful place - one of my favourite in Rome.

Buy from the official site. My wife wanted to visit it when we were there in 2010, so we did. I was unimpressed, but my wife enjoyed it.

I haven't bought recently, but I think they stage multiple releases of small numbers of tickets to try and defeat "scalpers" and tour companies. So be ready to sit at your computer for a while, and even do it multiple days. This is a very high-demand attraction. Also, please refer to this as Borghese Gallery because your Subject Line is the name of the massive PARK that contains the "museum" you want to book. If you tell a taxi "Villa Borghese" they could take you to a gateway far from the Gallery!

While I loved the collection, I went in the summer and was not prepared for the heat, expecting Italian museums to be air conditioned like their American counterparts.

If you don’t like hot weather, I recommend picking an early morning or late afternoon time slot (which goes against the conventional wisdom of going to museums when it’s least nice out).

Go with Christine's advice and book from the official site when tickets become available. Sometimes that has happened earlier in advance than 30 days so keep checking. This is a wonderful museum that we enjoyed much more than the Vatican due to the excellent crowd control!
