Vienna to the Cinque Terre

My husband and I are going to be in Vienna for work next month and are thinking of taking a week afterwards to head back to the Cinque Terra (where we went on our honeymoon just last October). The main problem I'm having with the plan is figuring out the best way to get from Vienna to the Cinque Terra. In quick online research it looks like the train would take about 12-13 hours which would be fine if I hadn't heard some bad things about overnight trains into Italy (no private sleeper cars and many middle of the night interruptions etc...). Since we really only have a week and I'd rather spend my time relaxing on the waterfront in sunny CT would it be better to take a flight? If so which airlines are best and which airport? I appreciate any advice.

I hate overnight trains. I think they are uncomfortable but there are some travelers that love them.

Sky Europe (http://www.skyeurope.com) has flights between Vienna and Pisa. Be sure to check the luggage limits before you book.
