I heard recently that this portion of the train is closed thru 2013. Has

The trails between Corniglia/Vernazza and Vernazza/Monterosso are open. The trails between Riomaggiore/Manorola (Via dell'Amore) and Manarola/Corniglia remain closed. Janet, I was there last week, and checked on the status of the trails at that time. The information provided by the others reflects the current status. The train from Manarola to Corniglia was supposed to open on June 15, but I'm not sure that's happened yet. The Via dell'Amore is expected to stay closed for the remainder of this year, to stabilize the area following a serious rock slide that occurred about Sept. 25 last year. Four Australian tourists were critically injured in that slide. Cheers!
