Via Appian: is it worth biking?

It depends on what you mean by worth spending time biking. It is an interesting area near the catacombs and it is interesting to see an old Roma road. Do it on Sunday when the traffic is restricted. It is just a pleasant time away from the hustle and noise of Rome.

We had a difficult time. The stones are very large and it was not easy to maneuver. We intended to cycle for a while but ended up returning our bikes much earlier than expected. We took the bus from Rome and I believe the shop we rented the bikes from was not far from where we were dropped off but not positive. Safe travels.

We loved it but we did a bike tour with one of the local companies. I’m not sure i would do it on my own, it was nice having the guide to provide commentary and help us navigate.
