Was wondering about the logistics of stashing suitcases in Pompeii. We want to do the Vesuvius hike before returning to the train station and I can't tell from the descriptions whether admission is charged inside or outside the building with the baggage room. Will we have to pay twice, first to get in to stash the bags and walk around Pompeii, and then to get back in to reclaim the bags after our vulcano hike? Thanks

The guidebook says you can leave luggage at the train station's bar for around €2, but to verify the hours before leaving; the bar often closes early. OR, to use the free baggage check at the Pompeii site... I've never been there, BUT from my experiences, you should be able to pick up your luggage without problem. Anyone out there have any informed insight?

The free Pompeii baggage storage is within the Porta Marina entrance area but outside the admission gate. You will not have to pay a second admission to reclaim your bags. Be sure to confirm closing time.
