Has anyone taken a Vespa tour in Tuscany? We are looking at a couple that take you through the Tuscan hills and some wineries. Please note: the wine tasting takes place AFTER the tour. They all have good reviews, but I would love to hear if anyone has actually done this or any other tours. Thanks!
be careful about combining winery tours - and presumably tasting or drinking - with driving a Vespa.
Italy has very strict drink driving laws strictly enforced...
Right, Jill. Wineries and scooters don't go together in the same sentence.
As well I wouldn't even think about driving a Vespa in Italy unless you have a reasonable amount of prior experience with one.
But are you looking at one of the tours where personnel from the tour company do the driving (and act as the teetotaling designated) and you just ride along on the back?
We've done biking trips to wineries, but I'd be nervous on a Vespa unless you have lots of experience driving one.
hey hey jill
we had planned to rent a vespa couple years ago, after thinking about it decided no. you have to have great experience riding one, if not they will deny you and it's final. also just a question to ask, if you decide, make sure if you need an IDP (international driving permit), read up on it.
if it was me i would ride in the fiat 500 vintage tour and leave the driving to them. good luck
